About Glendon

Glendon College is a liberal arts oriented college campus of York University. Glendon places significant focus on fostering a strong sense of bilingualism and linguistic awareness, making it Canada's only Centre for Excellence in French Language and Bilingual Postsecondary Education. At Glendon, you'll be greeted by anglophones, francophones, and allophones alike from all parts of la francophonie and the world at large.

To us at the Glendon College Student Union, this is what our student body of less than 3000 calls home. We're nestled on what was originally the lavish manor home and grounds of the Wood family, a lush property overlooking the Bridle Path. Our historical campus was where York University first began half a century ago, still retaining much of its original beauty today. For many of our students, a visit to our campus was what made us ultimately decide on Glendon, and begin our love for our green campus.
-----
One of the most distinctive aspects about Glendon, is the character of the everyone who studies, lives, and works here. Our smaller population results in a very tightly-knit student body; expect to recognise and be recognised on our campus. At Glendon, we don't get lost in crowds of people; our professors and staff members remember us by name and are often willing to go the extra mile to provide help when we seek it. It's easier to find who you need to get in touch with on our campus, which means we spend less time waiting in lines, and more time getting to know each other.
-----
So come visit us at Glendon! When you immerse yourself in our languages, stroll our campus grounds, and become part of our community, you too will become another one of our proud Glendonites.
